An accomplished trial attorney, Kathryn Cozzo is dedicated to assisting individuals in navigating their way through the legal system. Born in Michigan and raised in Cobb County, Kathryn received her undergraduate degree from Kennesaw State University and attended law school at Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law, graduating in 1998.
After graduation from law school, Kathryn had a passion for justice and the interpersonal aspects of the legal system, working as a criminal defense and family law attorney for two years before accepting a job as an Assistant District Attorney at the Cobb County District Attorney’s Office. As a felony prosecutor, Kathryn tried 6-10 cases per year to a jury, including murder, aggravated assault, vehicular homicide, robbery, burglary and numerous drug and other felony cases.
After leaving the Cobb County District Attorney’s Office, Kathryn began pursuing her desire to help individuals and companies resolve their disputes by training to become a mediator. In 2013, Kathryn became a Registered Civil and Domestic Mediator with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution. Currently, Kathryn mediates civil and domestic cases both privately and as a mediator handling court ordered cases through the Cobb County Superior Court ADR Program.
As a mediator, Kathryn uses her unique knowledge and extensive trial experience to help guide parties and their attorneys through the issues they may see at trial so that they can make an informed and well-reasoned decision about the merits of their case and its ultimate value.
Her knowledge is an asset to litigants who are seeking to better understand the possible outcomes they may face with continued litigation, thereby helping them come to a mutually agreeable and satisfactory resolution to their case.
Kathryn is also a previous instructor at Kennesaw State University’s College of Continuing Education Paralegal Program where she taught Family and Criminal Law.
